FIELD ASSIGNMENTS for Age Groups :     Posted 1-19-17
   The following locations are where we anticipate the specific age groups will be playing the majority of their
    games during the 2017 NSA “B” World Series in Northwest Indiana. 
    While there is no scientific method of deciding which age group plays in specific locations at this time, we
    have used NSA’s history of the number of teams attending to provide this guide for you to make hotel arrangements.  
    This is our best assessment of the situation at this time and hope it will assist you with hotel selections.
     In the end, the FINAL decision is based the number of total teams in the event, and how many teams are in
    each specific age group.  These final numbers or counts of teams entered are not available until very close to the tournament.

       Note:  The Tournament Director reserves the right to add new fields and ballparks or eliminate fields and 
                 ballparks if deemed necessary to conduct the tournament.

   STEP 1:   SUBMIT the following to the WORLD SERIES TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR:    The address is on the DEPOSIT FORM.           
                      1.  $300 Deposit 
(Money Order or Cashier's check or Online by Charge - see below) -AND- 
                     2.  DEPOSIT SUBMISSION FORM  -  The address is on the DEPOSIT FORM.    
        
                
    The date the deposit is required depends on when you received your berth.  See the DETAILS on the PROCEDURES.
    
     
You Can Pay the Deposit by Charge if you wish - YOU STILL NEED TO Scan/Email the Deposit Form!
                  Note:  8u Deposit is $300, the entry form shows the balance owed will be $150
 
 
   STEP 2:    SUBMIT the following TO your STATE DIRECTOR  no later than July 3, 2017

                          meet the NSA/Westpoint Insurance requirement with no additional charge to your team.
                          There is NO discount in the World Series Entry Fee for teams that have a yearly NSA/Westpoint policy.

     Price: $315.00    
    
You will still need to submit the DEPOSIT SUBMISSION FORM.  
  
   IF you choose, you can pay the DEPOSIT for the Northern B World Series by charge, but the fee will be $315.00
   we are offering this service as an OPTION for those teams that want to take advantage of it.  When submitting payment,
   make sure to use the address where the credit card statement is mailed.
Make sure to include YOUR TEAM NAME
   and Age Group on the check out form.
  Continue the check out process until the screen says your
   CARD HAS BEEN APPROVED and you are given an order number.

  

    You will still need to submit the DEPOSIT SUBMISSION FORM.   Email & Mailing Address is on the Deposit Form.
    INCLUDE your Order Number on the form.

GIFT EXCHANGE or GIFT SWAPS There will NOT be a GIFT EXCHANGE or SWAP in the NSA "B" World Series.
  We feel that many teams are just trying to stretch their budget to make the trip to the World Series
  and have found that the swap puts an extra burden on the teams.  We would rather you have freedom to
  choose how the extra funds can be spent with your own team or even possibly have a pizza party
  with a team you've just met....   (Added to packet 8-25-15)



TEAM INSURANCE - Q & A
   Can my team play in the NSA "B" World Series if their insurance is NOT an NSA/Westpoint Insurance Policy?

   Yes, that is correct, just supply us with a copy of your current insurance for your team when submitting your paperwork. 
  
    We will make sure that your team meets the NSA/Westpoint Insurance requirement for the World Series tournament.
    Nothing else you need to do and no additional fees for your team.


 
 
PLAYING RULES: NSA rules will govern all play in strict accordance with the NSA Rule Book.
                            It is the coach/managers responsibility to know the rules & bylaws of NSA.  Ignorance of a rule or
                             bylaw of NSA does NOT negate the penalty.  NSA rule book is available online 24/7 at www.PlayNSA.com
                            NOTE: ALL GAME
S, including CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES will be run with a Time Limit and Mercy/Run Rules


GAMES:     ALL EVENTS & GAMES ARE CENTRAL TIME
    1.   PLEASE ALLOW AMPLE TIME TO ARRIVE AT FIELDS FOR YOUR GAMES - EXPECT DELAYS DUE TO EARLY MORNING TRAFFIC
    2.  All teams must be present at the field Thirty (30) Minutes prior to the game time posted on the bracket
         board, READY TO TAKE THE FIELD.  Games may begin up to 15 minutes early if field is available.

    3.  Tournament Director could move games to a different field posted on the brackets based on field availability.
        Just because your field might be behind does NOT change your game time.  Teams could be moved to a vacant field
        to keep tournament moving and games on time.

    4.  Roster Checks may be done at anytime during the tournament.

 UNIFORMS: To be in strict accordance with NSA team dress code.

 SOFTBALL:   NSA black stitched optic yellow softballs are provided.
                    Umpires will control the balls and umpire decisions are final on softballs
.

BATSAs of JANUARY 1, 2015 - APPROVED BATS & APPROVED BAT COMPANY LIST
   
Only companies that have signed the NSA contract are approved for use and listed on the Approved Bat
    Companies List at www.PlayNSA.com  - Click on Equipment Bats & Balls.  This list will NOT change during the YEAR.

The bat MUST be from a company on the Approved Bat Company List.
    2. 
Only BATS from these companies with the 2012 NSA Logo or STAMP on them
will be allowed.       
         (Outline of
United States & NSA 2012)  The NSA bat logo has been put on bats since 2011.

      
Note:  It is the coaches/players' responsibility to check their bats for the Approved Company
               and the stamp prior to bringing them into play.

  

PROTEST: Umpire judgment calls are final.  There will be a $75.00 CASH ONLY protest fee.
                If protest is ruled in your favor, your money will be returned.

TOURNAMENT ADMISSION:  TOURNAMENT ADMISSION IS INCLUDED IN THE ENTRY FEE - This includes all spectators!
                                           No passes to keep track of or worry about losing!

                            by each individual site.  One site may have problems and another may not.



 AWARDS:  Minimum Awards will be presented as follows: 
                   First place Championship Team Award
                   Finalist Championship Team Award
                   3rd through 7th Place Team Awards
                   Individual Player Awards - For First, Second, Third and Fourth places
                            Please note:  Individual Awards are for the PLAYERS attending the World Series.

NSA items are licensed and no other items are allowed to be sold at our tournaments.  Violators will be prosecuted.

      RED SHOE PROJECT   
   WANTED:  The Red Shoe Project is collecting used softball cleats.  All shoes (no matter the color) will be
                    distributed to less fortunate young athletes.

                    PLEASE tie those shoe laces together and bring them to the Skills Competition on July 24th
                    The donations will be accepted at the South Shore CVA table located at field # 4.
