    Playing Rules:

NSA World Series for ODD Age Groups:
At this time NSA only recognizes even age groups for teams to create their memberships, but we are excited to offer the new Odd Age Group World Series!

The following will be used to determine approved rosters for the ODD AGE GROUP World Series.

    1.  Each ODD Age Division will be made up of players from the following years:
                        Age Division / Birth Year

9u Division - 2010 (or younger - based on the rules in the NSA rule book)
11u Division - 2008  (or younger - based on the rules in the NSA rule book)
13u Division - 2006  (or younger - based on the rules in the NSA rule book)
15u Division - 2004 (or younger - based on the rules in the NSA rule book)

    2.  If a team has a few OLDER players on it, the team can still enter the ODD Age Group World Series, but those OLDER player(s) will NOT be ELIGIBLE to participate in the ODD Age Group World Series Tournament
If a team is found to have an overage player (player not meeting the above birth year criteria) participating at the ODD Age Group World Series, they will be immediately removed from the tournament without refund of entry/gate fees or reimbursement of hotel/travel expenses.

    3.  In certain circumstances an EVEN age team will be allowed to play UP into an ODD age division, but only if the players meet the NSA roster rules for playing UP an age division.
Please call to verify if your team will meet the criteria before entering in a higher age group.

Example:  A 14u team will be allowed to play UP into the 15u Odd Age Division provided they do not have any players on their  roster that are eligible to participate on a 12u team - that according to NSA rules would not be eligible to play on a 16u team or in the 16u division.

All other NSA rules will govern all play in strict accordance with the NSA Rule Book.
It is the coach/managers responsibility to know the rules & bylaws of NSA.  Ignorance of a rule or bylaw of NSA does NOT negate the penalty.  NSA rule book is available for coaches online 24/7 at PlayNSA.com.  All games, including Championship Games will be run with a Time Limit and Mercy/Run Rules.

Please maintain safe behavioral practices as recommended by the CDC to the best of your abilities. Including: Social Distancing, Frequently Washing Hands or use alcohol based hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol), avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth and/or staying home when sick. Teams are responsible for and required to maintain/manage their own Social Distancing, including parking lots or team areas. Teams also need to bring their own first aid kits, ice packs, hand sanitizer and/or disinfectant wipes.   Some facilities may not be able to offer ice to the public.  Also, please help to keep the parks clean and ask all spectators and players to follow the park rules at all times.

Team Insurance Can my team play in the NSA World Series if their insurance is NOT an NSA/Westpoint Insurance Policy? Yes. You just have to supply us with a copy of your current insurance for your team when submitting your paperwork. We will make sure that your team meets the NSA/Westpoint Insurance requirement for the World Series tournament. Nothing else you need to do and no additional fees for your team.

13u Division:  Will have an IF game scheduled for Saturday 1:15 PM, barring any weather or unforeseeable issues.

        Gift Exchange or Gift Swaps:
There will NOT be a GIFT EXCHANGE or SWAP in the NSA World Series. We feel that many teams are just trying to stretch their budget to make the trip to the World Series and have found that the gift swap at their first game puts an extra burden on the teams.  We would rather you have freedom to choose how the extra funds can be spent.  Maybe share a pizza with a team you've just met?

        NSA World Series Scholarships

NSA Scholarship Event:   NSA will be awarding four (4) $250 Scholarships on Opening Day!

        One player per age group (9u - 11u - 13u - 15u) will be selected by a blind draw.
All players participating at the NSA World Series are eligible for the drawing.

One team name per age division will be drawn during the coaches meeting. Those coaches will then be asked to see us after the meeting to verify what players are participating from their teams. During the Opening Ceremonies a drawing for an individual player from each team selected earlier will be announced.

        Thank you for playing NSA.
